Hey Everyone!

I don't know if you've heard , but AHAA Youth have proven the strength of the club. This year's Youth Nationals was dominated by many Champions from our club! Congratulations to everyone and nice job! Also, AHAA made a strong showing at this year's U.S. National Arabian Judging Competition. Our teams were 5th and 7th in Overall Performance, 5th and 6th in Overall Reasons as well as 5th and 9th in Overall AHA Rankings out of 17 teams! All of the youth judges; Ashley Jackson, Tiffany Kurth, Lauren Lovell, Haley Griggaitis, Taryn Pearson, Nicole Truesdale and Angie Orsino represented our club in a great way. Also, thanks to our Judging Coach, Kristi Howes for her hard work.

With that said, did you like last year's General Youth Meeting and Fun Night at the Ice Den? Well, if you did, you can look forward to it again on Friday, October 29th at the Altell Ice Den. Get ready to have fun!

Have You Met the Youth Board?!

Well, here they are! This year's board includes Chelsea Simon, Chloe Holmes, Kara Fishgold, Nicole Truesdale, Tiffany Kurth, Lauren Lovell, and me, Evan Serie. Here's a little bit about us:

Evan Serie-
I am 16 years old and am a Junior at Desert Mountain High School. I also study vocal and piano jazz. I have been actively involved in horses and the sport since I was 8. When I first got the bug, I rode with a dressage barn in New Hampshire. Now, more than 8 years later, I am more enthralled than ever by the beauty and authority of horses, specifically Arabians. As for my horses, I ride a Half-Arabian / Half-Saddlebred Gelding name Back Ina Flash I show him regularly in Show Hack, Country English, Showmanship, and Halter. I have owned him for two years and he has been my first Arabian horse, following a Quarter horse mare. While I am hard at work organizing the launch of our Meet-a-Horse program, my main goal for this year is this for our club to become more of a group of friends than peers and for all of us to enjoy and be proud of being a member of the Arabian Horse Youth Association of Arizona.

Nicole Truesdale-
Hi everyone! My name is Nicole Truesdale and I am this year's Vice President. I am 16 years old and got to Xavier College Preparatory. I have lived in Arizona for about 5 years after moving here from England after living in Boston for most of my life. I have been riding for about 9 years, doing everything from dressage, jumping, hunter, western, and saddle seat. I own one purebred arab, who has recently become a hunter horse after many years of country and english, NJ Gipper. I started in the arabian show circut about 4 years ago. I believe we have an especially motivated board and will accomplish what we have set out to. Even though this is my first year on the board, I am very motivated and have many ideas that hopefully the members will get to actually see in action and participate in. I'm looking forward to a great year, and if anyone has any questions or concerns dont be afraid to come talk to me.

Chelsea Simon-
I am Chelsea Simon and I am currently the Director of Social Activities for the AHAA Youth Board This is my second year on the board and second term under Social Activities Director. My position includes designing the Scottsdale Youth Party and various other fun activities for all the youth members. I currently have a purebred Arabian gelding name d Tango. We show in Country English Pleasure, Show Hack, and side-saddle. I had so much fun on the board last year and I hope we have another successful year. Good luck to everyone at Youth Nationals!

Lauren Lovell-
Hi! My name is Lauren Lovell and I and currently one of the Directors of Public Relations. I am a Freshman at Cactus Shadows High School. I have been riding for 5 years. I currently show 3 English horses, I Hunter horse, and 2 Western horses. While being involved with the AHAA Youth Board, I hope to bring new ideas to it while trying to keep the public involved.
